CENTER PIECE MAT

I created this 5 1/2" x  5 1/2" mat as my entry for the June challenge at the 'Frilly and Funky Challenge Blog'.  All the information on this challenge can be found HERE on their blog.

I started by cutting a 5 1/2" x  5 1/2" card from medium weight chipboard.  I then used molding paste on a sunburst shaped stencil.

While paste dried I made the roses with 'Tattered Floral' dies by Tim Holtz.  Smaller flowers and roses are made with a five petaled punch by EK.  All the edges were burnished with three different Distress Ink colors.

I used many layers of Distress Inks in pinks and greens on the mat.  I lightly spritzed with water and Glimmer Mist before adding all the embellishments.  Which is what the challenge is all about!

The  2 1/2" rose is nestled on a layer of greenery made from various dies . The 'floating pearls' are really an old necklace from my stash.  The  glass beads and other pearl beads are also from my stash.

And there you have it...Thanks for stopping by...

TOWER/STEP BOX

This is my 'Tower/Step Box' I created using a wonderful tutorial by Cynthia at 'The Scrappy Bookworm 1'.  You can find that tutorial HERE.

To begin with I selected a darling digital kit called 'Beach Day' by Karen at Snickerdoodle Designs.  Her kit is available HERE.  Using all the measurements provided by Cynthia in her tutorial, I made templates using Photoshop Elements 15.  All the backgrounds, elements and characters came from that kit.  Then I cut everything out and created my box.

This is the box opened up to show the steps made from the smaller boxes.

This is the outside of box with characters attached.

On top of the lid I created a lotus type flower from scrapes of paper using the 'Tattered Florals' die by Tim Holtz.

It made a great nest for the duck that was cut from the 'Beach Day' collection.

After decorating and attaching lid here's side one.
