CHRISTMAS THANK YOU CARD

Here's a Thank You card for all the great stuff I've gotten for the Holidays.  It measures 5.5 in. by 8.5 in. to fit in the A2 size envelopes.  I'll send the little 'Snow People' along with each card.
I used 'Trimming The Tree' digital kit by Karen at Snickerdoodle Designs.  It will be in her store on the 17th of December.

                                                                  This is the front.

This is an insert on the inside with sentiment.

I love to fussy cut.  To make the Snow People I used the quick selection tool to extract the snowman from front of card.

When I printed the card itself I used the extra space around it to print the 'Snow People'.  So that they can be free standing I flipped one of each pair horizontally.

Using a clear gel tacky glue I glued the two sides together.  I put clips around the edges to hold them down while drying.  The wire is 16 gauge.  I bent a 3 in. piece in half and inserted it between layers.

They stand up very well and will lay nice and flat inside the cards.  I think they look very excited about the journeys they are about to make!

                                                             Merry Christmas!

WINE BOTTLE NIGHT LIGHT

This glass wine bottle measures about 15 inches high.  There is a hole drilled in the back to insert  mini string of clear lights.  Grape cluster is formed by 1/2 inch glass beads glued on with Shoe Goo.

Neck and top of bottle is decorated with paper flowers made with 'Tiny Tattered Floral' die by Tim Holtz.  The little bird topping off the cork is from the digital kit 'Today' by Karen at Snickerdoodle Designs.  You can get that HERE

WHIMSICAL BIRDS

These 'Whimsical Birds' are from a digital mini kit by Snickerdoodle Designs called 'Today'.  You can get the kit at her store HERE

I started by bringing  each bird into Photoshop to make three different sizes.  Each bird had to be flipped before printing so I could glue them together.  The legs are made of 14 gauge wire.  The background pages match the birds perfectly.  I printed some for covering the blocks and some for the flowers.

After the glue dried I coated them with 3D Crystal Lacquer to give them a shiny look.  Then covered the wood blocks and burnished the edges with Distress Ink.

The blocks measure 1' by 1 1/2'.  The flowers are made from 'Tiny Tattered Florals' die by Tim Holtz.

'STEAMPUNK' Book End

I only need one bookend for my desk.  The base is made of blocks of wood wrapped with paper.  It's job is to hold my books and calenders up against my printer.

I started by gathering a basic metal bookend and different sizes of wood blocks.  The papers are from a Tim Holtz  'Steampunk' paper pack.  Bookend  measures 7x9.

Here's a side view.  It measures 4 inches wide.  I used  Tim Holtz's 'Tattered Florals' die for the roses and his 'Tiny Tattered Florals' for the smaller flowers.  All the other findings and do-dads came out of my stash.

FARM FRESH Recipe Album

This chipboard album measures 4 1/2 by 6 1/2.  I used a darling kit called 'Farm Fresh' by Snickerdoodle Designs.  Alpha's are from an unknown kit by Andrea Gold.  Black and white chickens and milk can are printed on photo paper before cutting out.

I started by altering the already made up journal cards to fit on 4x6 cards.  The stacked animals on the front are cut out and attached with Mod Podge.

Front side of album and recipe cards.  All cards are burnished with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.

ALTERED PRINGLES CAN

I used a regular sized Pringles can for this piece.  The background papers are from Graphic 45's "Artisan Style".

The fairies' pearls are from my stash as is the butterfly.

The fairy herself I cut out from Graphic 45's "Once Upon a Springtime Collection"

.
All the flowers were made with scrapes from both collections.

APRON BOX

This Apron Box is made from Sizzix BigZ die by Lori Whitlock.  The background paper is Soft Suede by Stampin' Up.  All burnishing done using Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.

After cutting out the box pieces I scanned the apron pattern to make a pattern 1/4 inch smaller for front and back.

I chose a digital kit by Snickerdoodle Designs called Oven Lovin'.  This kit was perfect.  It already had the recipe cards (front and back) designed and ready to cut out.  Plus there were the cutest little spoons and cookies I wanted to use to fill up the front pocket.

Close up of front pocket.

Some of the recipe cards.

Back and side of box.  Also can see the little flowers I cut out to sprinkle around the box.

CHIPBOARD BUTTERFLIES

These butterflies were made by using the tutorial found at Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen called Chipboard Embellishments. While she went on to use her butterflies as elements in digital layouts, I took my objects off the page and mounted them on chipboard.  They are about 3 1/2 in. wide.

I started by selecting backgrounds from her Digital Kit called 'Firm Foundation'.  I also picked a couple backgrounds to use to make flowers.  The antenna's are made of wire and I decorated each with small metal Steampunk gears.

COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES 3 Challenge #27

This is my entry to the newest challenge in Tim Holtz's book, A Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 3.  If you don't have a copy, you can get an autographed copy HERE.
The 'Embossing Diffusers' technique we are using is found on page 61 of the book.

It's hard to photograph glitter, but my little fairy is quite sparkly as she checks on her collection of
butterflies.  She is stamped with Versafine Ink and dusted with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.

I used Shimmer Spray on the jar to make it sparkle.  The butterflies are colored with Distressed Markers.

This is a close up of the 'sand' the jar is setting in.  It is Glossy Accents  mixed with glass micro beads.  The butterfly-fairy-jar stamp is by Prima.

The sponsor this time is Inspiration Emporium. They have a $50 gift certificate for a lucky winner.  The 'Curiosity Crew's' choice will receive an assortment of products from Tim Holtz and Mario Rossi.

Photo Tag Album

This is the Photo Tag Album I made with large tags sold by Tim Holtz.  For the papers I used a Digital Kit by Snickerdoodle Designs called 'It's A Snap'.
The directions are from My Sisters Scrapper site.  Just scroll down until you come to the tutorial to make a 'Graphic 45 ABC Primer Tag Mini Album'.

This kit lends itself so well to this project because of all the wonderful 'Clusters' already designed and ready to go.  I chose the 'Clusters' I wanted to use and added the 'Word Art', again, already to go.  Following directions from the video for measurements, I printed all the papers for background and photo pads at the same time.

This is the first tag pocket.  Laying beside it is the photo tag removed from it's pocket.  A photo is mounted on each side and then slipped back into pocket.  All photo tags are the same.

Here's the second tag.  As you can see, there is also a photo pad on the back of each pocket too.

And so on throughout the whole album.  This little guy can hold a whole lot of photos!

COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES Challenge 25

This "wood door- knob hanger" is my entry to the newest challenge in Tim Holtz's book, A Compendium of Curiosities Volume 3.  If you don't have a copy, you can get an autographed one HERE.
Our challenge is found on page 64.  We'll be using Frameworks Dies by Tim Holtz.  I chose the Trellis.  You can go to Linda Ledbetter's SITE to get all the instructions.
Our sponsor for this challenge is INSPIRATION EMPORIUM.  They have a $50 gift certificate for some lucky winner.  Also, The Curiosity Crew's choice will receive an assortment of products from TIM HOLTZ AND MARIO ROSSI.

I started with two coats of Gesso.

I layed with Wild Honey, Peeled Paint and Mustard Seed Distress Paint and spritzed with water  until colors ran together.

Then I used Honeycomb stencil with Molding Paste.  After it dried I used more paint and a touch of Black Cherry Glimmer Mist. Also used Remnant Rubs behind trellis.

This is a close up of the Trellis die placed along the side with center cutouts of shiny gold, silver and black.  The leaves that are woven into the trellis are an Alterations die by Tim Holtz called Spring Greenery.
Roses are made with a tiny five petal flower punch and coated with Glossy Accents to make them shine.
