BOOK END

I created this single 'Book End' using papers from the 'idea-ology' collection by Tim Holtz.  It measures 4" x  6 1/2" and is 9" tall.

I began by wrapping blocks of wood with the papers and attaching them to a regular book end.

Here's a look at one side.  The bottle is filled with tiny aquarium rocks. and a bouquet of flowers.  The flowers were made using EK's five petaled punch.  There are more tiny rocks cascading around the blocks.

The other flowers are from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Close up of other side.  Metal beatle is from Hobby Lobby.

Here's the back of 'Book End'. It shows off the peacock feathers better.

MARVELLOUS METALLICS CHALLENGE

This month's challenge at 'The Funkie Junkie Boutique' is to add metallics' to a project.  I created this picture frame out of a wood block and accented it with metallic corners and a metallic clock.
If you would like to join in on the fun you can find all information needed at 'The Funkie Junkie' located HERE.

The 3"x 3" picture holder opens up to attach two photos.  It is held closed with the help of small magnets. The frog is a two sided character I created using an image on the internet.  I brought it into Photoshop Elements for coloring and sizing.  It measures about 3 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide.

I began by covering the wood with papers from the 'Nature Sketchbook' collection by Graphic 45.  Using a drill I made holes to place flowers in.  They are mounted on floral wires.

Close up of the tiny rocks, flowers and clock that cover the whole top of the picture frame.  Tim Holtz die 'Tiny Tattered Florals' was used for flowers and grass.

One side.

Back side also has a picture holder that opens up for two more photos.  Project measures
3 1/2" x  8" x  2 1/4".

EXPLOSION BOXES

I created this first 'Explosion Box' using wonderful directions from Lisa at
StampUpLisa on Utube.  You can find them HERE.
The box measures 4 1/2" x  4 1/2" and is mounted on 1" wooden beads.

Remove the lid and pages open up to display three layers of pages for photo's.  Papers used are from the 'Halloween in Wonderland Collection' from Graphic 45.

I printed a clip art skeleton head from the internet and used it as center piece for the base of the inside of box.  Touch of grass is made using Tim Holtz's 'Tiny Tattered Florals' die.

Owl on the top is also from clip art on the internet.  Both characters are two sided.

Flowers used on the outside of box are made from scrapes from the collection.  They are cut from an Ali Express die.

The second box is made using papers from the 'Nature Sketchbook' Collection also by Graphic 45.

I completed this box by attaching the photos inside.

I downloaded the butterflies from clip art on the internet and made up in two different sizes.

Larger butterfly for the top of box.

ROSE GARDEN ALTERED BOX

I created this 'Rose Garden' themed box using papers from the 'Shabby Rose' collection by Stamperia.  The box itself measures 6 1/2" wide x 7" high.  After mounting it on 2" wooden beads for feet it sets  9" high.

Here's a close up of the mat that sets on the top.  I made the roses using 'Tattered Floral' die by Tim Holtz as well as a 'Five Petaled' punch by EK.  The greenery is made using varies dies by Cherry Lynn Designs.

Sunray design made with stencil sculpting paste.  Then coloring with Distress Ink.

Side view of mat.  Pearls came from my stash.

I painted the edges of box with Gesso first then white acrylic paint.

The wooden beads were also painted with Gesso and then purple acrylic paint. That was followed up with a shiny clear spray.

I lined the inside of the box with white paper and added a lacy die on the edges.

Attached finished 2" wooden beads to bottom for legs.

CD MINI ALBUM

This is the front cover for my 'Beach Time' CD Album that I designed using the most wonderful digital kit from Karen at Snickerdoodle Designs called 'Beach Day'. You can find that kit HERE.
I created this 'CD Mini Album' by repurposing an old CD case.  I followed a great video presented by JoAnn that you can find HERE.

Here are my templates.
JoAnn's measurements are good for this album, however, since I brought the digital kit into Photoshop Elements for designing I had to measure in quarter inch increments.  So I did a little trimming as I put pages in the album.

After cutting out all templates, I burnished the edges with Tempting Turquoise ink by Stampin' Up.  I attached the pages with 1/2" Score Tape and Elmer's runner tape.

Here's the inside of the album showing the inside front page and the attached photo squares.

Here's the back cover.

CENTER PIECE MAT

I created this 5 1/2" x  5 1/2" mat as my entry for the June challenge at the 'Frilly and Funky Challenge Blog'.  All the information on this challenge can be found HERE on their blog.

I started by cutting a 5 1/2" x  5 1/2" card from medium weight chipboard.  I then used molding paste on a sunburst shaped stencil.

While paste dried I made the roses with 'Tattered Floral' dies by Tim Holtz.  Smaller flowers and roses are made with a five petaled punch by EK.  All the edges were burnished with three different Distress Ink colors.

I used many layers of Distress Inks in pinks and greens on the mat.  I lightly spritzed with water and Glimmer Mist before adding all the embellishments.  Which is what the challenge is all about!

The  2 1/2" rose is nestled on a layer of greenery made from various dies . The 'floating pearls' are really an old necklace from my stash.  The  glass beads and other pearl beads are also from my stash.

TOWER/STEP BOX

This is my 'Tower/Step Box' I created using a wonderful tutorial by Cynthia at 'The Scrappy Bookworm 1'.  You can find that tutorial HERE.

To begin with I selected a darling digital kit called 'Beach Day' by Karen at Snickerdoodle Designs.  Her kit is available HERE.  Using all the measurements provided by Cynthia in her tutorial, I made templates using Photoshop Elements 15.  All the backgrounds, elements and characters came from that kit.  Then I cut everything out and created my box.

This is the box opened up to show the steps made from the smaller boxes.

This is the outside of box with characters attached.

On top of the lid I created a lotus type flower from scrapes of paper using the 'Tattered Florals' die by Tim Holtz.

It made a great nest for the duck that was cut from the 'Beach Day' collection.

After decorating and attaching lid here's side one.
