WILD ABOUT FLOWERS

When I opened the new kit Fly Away Home by Snickerdoodles Designs I fell in love with the flowers.  I knew I could convert them into some fun projects.

              These were used for a Birthday lunch with friends.  A place card for each of us.

   I made three different sizes for each flower and strung them together with a bead on a wire.

This is an altered cover for a box of chocolates.  When the candy is gone; you just have to replace the pieces and you always have a fun box to set out.

The background pages are all color coordinated.  So both sides of the flowers, leaves and wrapping paper all compliment each other.

MINI PHOTO ALBUM

This 4x4 Mini Album is a Birthday gift for my friend, Priss.  I used a wonderful digital kit called "Misty Autumn" by Karen at Snickerdoodle Designs.  The moment I saw this kit I knew I had to make an album.  I love the rich tones of Autumn used throughout.  Beautiful backgrounds.

COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES 3 Challenge #22

This 6x6 chipboard plaque is my entry for Challenge #22.

In this challenge we are using Tim's Dimensional Cutting Pad from Sizzix and the Base Tray.  This technique is found on page 62 of Tim's book "A Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 3 which you can purchase HERE.

SMALL PHOTO ALBUM

 This album is 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 with a 2 1/2 inch spine.  Tutorial on making album is from a video by My Sisters Scrapper.  I used a kit from Snickerdoodle Designs called 'Follow Your Heart'.  It goes way beyond just Valentine's Day!  This one is full of photos of my Grandson and his new bride.  Both before and after the wedding.

I made templates for my pages and designed them using the kit.  Then printed them on Strampin' Up paper 'Whisper White'.  The flowers were cut out and burnished with Distressed Ink  'Tea Dye' before being glued onto the front.  Pages were burnished as well.

Here's a couple of my favorite pages.  The nice thing about using Digital Scrapbooking Kits is that I can arrange the 'word art' with whatever 'elements' I like:).  

VALENTINE TINS

     These are altered 8 oz. peanut cans.  I filled them with Valentine candies for my friends.

For images I down-loaded the kit "Vintage Valentine Cards" by Karen at Snickerdoodle Designs.  The panels measure 9.75 x 3.5 and are attached with 1/4 Scor-Tape.

Flowers on top are made from the Tattered Florals die by Tim Holtz and paper from Stampin'  Up.

COMPENDIUM OF CURIOSITIES VOL. 3 Challenge 19

     This challenge is #19 in Tim Holtz's book  "A Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 3".  If you don't have this book, you can find it HERE.  We are exploring the "Frayed Fabric" technique found on page 66.  His "Curiosity Crew" will choose a winner and award them a chest full of 'goodies'!

      This paper clown is a real mixed media of findings.  I inked the frayed edges.  Used twisted wire for the umbrella handle. Small plastic beads for umbrella and little plastic stars in the background.  He is standing on a bed of paper cut bushes with small plastic flowers.
       

POP-UP BOX CARD

This is a standard sized pop-up card.  Directions for the basic card can be found at Splitcoast Stampers.  The sentiment reads:  What good is the warmth of summer without the cold of winter to give it Sweetness? 

I downloaded and printed the graphics from a kit called "Woodland Winter".  You can find it at Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen.

  

Cut out the panels and elements and brush the edges with small stamp pads.  Then lightly coat with a Micro Glaze.  Let dry.

Attach all panels using double sided tape.

Here's a close up of the elements.  They are attached with hot glue gun and pop-up dots.
