POST-IT EASEL CARD

I am so happy and honored to have been selected by the 'Frilly and Funkie Blog' team to be guest designer for the May Challenge.
The theme challenge is 'I love it because'.   How often do you create something just for you that makes your heart sing? Doesn't it feel great when you do! My challenge to you is to make a vintage or shabby chic piece of art, be it a journal page, a tag, a card, a home decor project etc, that fills you with happiness and makes you smile - don't forget to tell us why you love it so much.
If you would like to join in on this challenge just jump over to 'The Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog' for the details HERE.

When card is opened the face of the card sets just behind the Post-it tray.
There is a tutorial for the Post-it Easel Card HERE.

I love giraffes!  They are just the most graceful and elegant animal I know of.  I found the giraffe image online.  Brought it into Photoshop Elements for sizing, recoloring and cutting out.  Tallest giraffe is about 4 1/2" x  1 1/2".

When card is opened the face of the card sets just behind the Post-it tray.

Instead of using a Post-it pad,  I designed a small matchbox.  It measures 2" x  3 1/4".  The tray slides out and a little monkey attached by an acrylic tab 'pops' out.  Inside are two more smaller open trays for storage of 'doo-dads'.
There is a tutorial for matchbox HERE.

Most of the papers I used are scraps from Graphic 45's 'Olde Curiosity Shoppe'.  Animals  are from the internet.  Flowers are made using Tattered Florals die by Tim Holtz.  Leaves are from a die that is now retired.

...Thanks for stopping by...
